At a Full Council meeting on 21 August 2017, Spelthorne Borough Council appointed their new Chief Executive, Daniel Mouawad, following Roberto Tambini’s announcement earlier this year of his intention to retire.
Cllr Ian Harvey, Leader of the Council said after the meeting: “Since Roberto announced his retirement earlier this year we have been seeking a suitable replacement to take Spelthorne forward and to build on the excellent position Roberto has brought us to. Daniel has a unique combination of public and private sector experience focused in particular on economic development and regeneration, including having served the nation as a diplomat, so I am confident that he will prove to be a worthy successor. Daniel was the unanimous choice of our Appointments Committee and I am delighted that the Council has endorsed our selection. I, and my colleagues are very much looking forward to working with Daniel and welcoming him and his family to the Borough, where they intend to put down roots.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Roberto for his 38 years of public service, 11 of them at Spelthorne, and wish him and his wife Anne, a very long and happy retirement”.
Daniel takes over as Chief Executive immediately following Roberto’s retirement on 8 September.
